FRÖHLE – Made in Germany since 1986

The two company founders Rita Fröhle and Wilhelm Kannengießer met in 1986. After a short time they decided to found a company together that offers a solution for potency problems. The result is the now well-known brand FRÖHLE.

How it all began:

Inspired by the letterbox advertising, which also included erotic flyers from Beate Uhse, Wilhelm Kannengießer developed plans in the mid-1980s to bring something new to the medical market. Since there was a doctor in the Kannengießer family who regularly and successfully performed cupping therapies on his patients – including Kannengießer himself – he did everything he could to develop such a device for the male intimate area. In combination with a vacuum pump, he believed it should be possible to create a device for the intimate area that could enlarge the penis and improve erection. Wilhelm Kannengießer immediately became aware of the gap in the market. Until then, such products were not offered in the above-mentioned flyers. And so the inspiration for a new business model was born.

The founding phase:

For production, a so-called blow mold had to be ordered first, which turned out to be relatively cost-intensive. Since the production of an anatomically shaped cylinder requires not only practical skills but also a high level of artistic talent, an anatomical penis pump was initially produced using the blow molding process. The first press releases about this anatomical penis pump appeared in 1988 in various magazines such as Praline, Wochenend and Schlüsselloch. After various preliminary discussions with several doctors, specialist magazines also appeared about FRÖHLE and the anatomical penis pump (e.g. potency enhancement, age-independent penis enlargement, etc.). The announcement via such high-quality media ultimately led to the big breakthrough and was at the same time a great motivation to expand the product range.

Further development of the product range and competitors:

In order not to be dependent on the vacuum pumps already on the market and to be able to offer his customers a wider range of products, Wilhelm Kannengießer himself developed tools for Manufacture of the vacuum pumps he designed. Many of these innovations were successfully patented or registered as utility models. This enabled a significant expansion of the product range to include cylinders in a new design, which were available in different sizes and made from many different materials.< /p>

Over time, however, competitors who manufactured cheap imitations in China began to offer their goods on the market. However, these cheaper imitations could not endanger the continued existence of the FRÖHLE brand due to their inferior quality and the resulting short lifespan. Then as now, many customers trust FRÖHLE's "100% Made in Germany" products. The high product quality was evident in the initial phase, when the goods were already selling well in selected erotic shops. A great success for the then still young brand. With new product ideas, FRÖHLE was able to gradually expand its product range and offer both men and women help with their specific problems.

For Rita Fröhle and Wilhelm Kannengießer, customers and their concerns always came first. Being close to their customers has enabled them to continually broaden their knowledge horizons, allowing them to constantly develop new products to meet the needs of different target groups.

FRÖHLE today:

Rita Fröhle and Wilhelm Kannengießer entered their well-deserved retirement in March 2019 and handed over the FRÖHLE brand to a young, innovative team that is committed to continuing and developing the FRÖHLE brand in the spirit of their predecessors.
